Dark Synth-Rock Duo Black Hall Debut Ghostly Video for “DED (Dead End Drive)”

Long Beach, CA, dark synth-rock duo, Black Hall (Tanner Dean and Errol Kern) encompasses a unique multi-layered combination of post-punk, psych-rock, and Italo Disco. Their moody new offering, DED (Dead End Drive) exudes dreamy, cool sophistication as it laments the end of a relationship. With both Tanner and Errol on guitars, synthesizers/drum machine programming, and vocals, the mood bounces from feeling spooky and dark, to spritely and upbeat, to chill and relaxing, and back to dark again.  We hear shades of Depeche Mode, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Boy Harsher, and New Order in this atmospheric song.

The video clip depicts a ghostly woman wandering through various landscapes, ending with a haunting shot of her framed in the door of an abandoned space, a beautiful, mysterious metaphor.

Watch below:

DED is off Black Hall’s forthcoming self-titled EP, to be released on October 28th.
