Maggot Heart are premiering with us today their video for “Pinned Like a Butterfly”, shot by Lewis Lloyd at underground music mainstays in Berlin: 8mm and Urban Spree.
The video features singer/guitarist Linnea Olsson lit by a faint blue light as Buto dancer Valentin Tszin artistically contorts, while a dark invocation proceeds, ultimately creating an atmosphere not unlike that in Nico’s “Evening of the Light”—but this time however, for the urban witch.
Maggot Heart was formed by Linnea Olsson after she played guitar for Deathrock band Grave Pleasures (formerly Beastmilk), on the band’s 2015 album Dreamcrash.
“Pinned Like a Butterly” is featured on Maggot Heart’s nine song debut LP Dusk to Dusk.
Maggot Heart are going on Tour with Denmark’s Slaegt from Denmark for what has been billed as “The Secret Fires” Tour”:
