Concert: The Cure Live

On October 22nd, 1984, The Cure released their first live album Concert: The Cure Live. The 10 tracks featured on the album were recorded live in Oxford, on May 5 1984, and at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, through the 9th to 10th of May of that year.

The lineup during this time was Robert Smith, Porl Thompson, Andy Anderson, Phil Thornalley, and Lol Tolhurst.

The track selection featured on the album was for the most part singles recorded by the band up until the release of their fifth studio album The Top released earlier in 1984, for which the album tracks “Shake Dog Shake”, and “Give Me It” are Included. The only other album two feature two tracks on the live record is 1982’s Pornography, for which the single “The Hanging Garden is Included”, as well as “100 Years”.

Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977-1984

Speaking of Pornography, the cassette version of Concert: The Cure Live features a bonus rarities album on its b-side called Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977–1984, which includes the ultra rare mostly improvised live track “All Mine”, a variety on the traditional set closing track “Forever” that was performed live during the closing of the Pornography era in May and June of 1982.

The version included of “All Mine” was performed on May 1st, 1982, and Gothic Rock journalist Mick Mercer was in attendance during this particular performance.

You can also find “All Mine” on the Deluxe edition of “Pornography”, or listen to it below here:
