Via the Italians do it Better YouTube account yesterday, a curious video from synth-infused dream-pop champions Chromatics was unveiled—but mysteriously minus the synth, and boy does it ever work.
Indeed, as the band has gone acoustic with “I Want To Be Alone”, a bewitching track bearing the name of Greta Garbo’s renowned catchphrase, but awash the nostalgic shiver of Nancy Sinatra meets Priscilla Paris.
This is a song that would still be at home if the Chromatics were to return onstage to the roadhouse in Twin Peaks.

As to what album, EP, or even single this song is attached to, at this point remains as mysterious as the candlelight psychedelia of this perfect song to close the summer.
Chromatics meanwhile are touring Europe this fall.
