Chicago Post-Punk Act Oddysseys Debut New Single “Enough”

Chicago-based post-punk outfit, Oddysseys, have returned with a brand new single entitled “Enough,” marking their first release since June of 2022. The ore duo of Christian Treon and Paul DiRico have once again defied genre boundaries with a track that blurs the lines between dream and reality, weaving together an ethereal tapestry of neo-psychedelia, shoegaze, electronic, and grunge.

In “Enough,” we hear the echoes of the Pixies, Sonic Youth, the Lemonheads, Dandy Warhols, and Paramore, as Oddysseys conjure up a sound that bristles with raw, unfiltered energy. Treon’s rich, soaring vocals build to a crescendo over James Walsh’s hypnotic percussion and plodding bass, while the track’s anthemic chorus is sure to lodge itself in the listener’s mind.

With its diamond-in-the-rough sound that would be right at home on any 90s college radio station, “Enough” is a perfect encapsulation of Oddysseys’ singular vision.

The enigmatic collective known as Oddysseys has carved out a raw and uncompromising presence in the subterranean music world, leaving an indelible mark on dingy basements, industrial warehouses, and hallowed stages throughout the United States and Canada. Their kinetic live shows are a sonic journey through a multifaceted discography that beckons both the frenzied pogoers and the stoic wallflowers to the dance floor.

As true DIY purists, Oddysseys take matters into their own hands, crafting their music, recording it themselves, booking their own shows, and promoting their unique vision without the interference of corporate overlords. This working-class ethos resonates throughout their multimedia output, as they strive to ascend to new heights with a ferocious commitment to authenticity and self-expression.

For Oddysseys, the odyssey is just beginning, as the band prepares for an upcoming single, an EP, tours in the US and Canada, and a handful of accompanying music videos.
