Chicago Dark Industrial Pop Artist Brittany Bindrim Debuts Video for “One Fixed Point”

The quest for one’s true counterpart is a deep dive into the soul, a search for a mirror that reflects and understands the intricate layers of one’s essence. It’s a journey of vulnerability and discovery, seeking someone who resonates with one’s deepest truths. This profound connection transcends mere companionship, fostering mutual growth and a unique understanding where silence and words carry equal weight. Finding such a person transforms and evolves the self in a pilgrimage towards the heart’s desires and the soul’s needs, culminating in transcendent love.

Chicago artist Brittany Bindrim (I:Scintilla), explores this odyssey of the heart and soul with One Fixed Point, accompanied by a visually stunning video directed by Simona Noreik that captures a joyfully celestial ambiance.

This single, which marries the allure of dark pop with a captivating mystery, promises to sweep listeners off their feet. One Fixed Point, Bindrim’s third release from her upcoming debut album Velella Velella, delves into the deep emotions of intense infatuation and the magical discovery of a perfect counterpart. With production by Matt McJunkins, known for his work with A Perfect Circle, Poppy, and Puscifer, the track highlights Bindrim’s skillful songwriting and her uplifting vocal prowess. One Fixed Point stands out with its potent mix of intensity and edginess, driven by dynamic beats and the crisp bite of synthesizers, which contrasts beautifully with its ethereal qualities.

One Fixed Point…is a dark, dreamy love song about finding one’s counterpoint,” says Bindrim. “The track aims to capture the pinnacle of intoxicating infatuation and bliss – that ephemeral moment where one becomes entangled in the sublime joy of immersing oneself in another. It explores that delicate balance between losing yourself in the intensity of the shared moment and discovering a heightened sense of completeness.”

In Velella Velella, out next year, Bindrim explores avant-garde musical landscapes, collaborating with producer Matt McJunkins — a name synonymous with an eclectic range of influential acts like A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Eagles of Death Metal, and Poppy.

In the spectrum of Brittany Bindrim’s musical oeuvre, one finds a remarkable range in Velella Velella: from introspective, haunting ballads to the raw energy of dance-floor anthems. Her body of work not only demonstrates her multifaceted artistic capacity but also charts the progression of her creativity. Through her music, Bindrim navigates the terrain of personal and societal metamorphosis, engaging with the complexities of contemporary sociopolitical issues and probing the more obscure aspects of human psyche. Her lyrics resonate with a candid vulnerability, unshielded and forthright, traversing themes that span the introspective journey of self-awareness to the nuanced interplay of empathy and indifference, the jarring confrontation with disillusionment, and the dynamic process of personal growth. This blend of introspection and social commentary, rendered through her music, reflects a profound engagement with both the personal and the universal aspects of the human experience.

Bindrim says the songwriting process of each song on this album varied from track to track. “Some songs were spawned from a vocal or lyrical idea, and on a few tracks a synth melody and vocal were first written together all at once,” she says. “In the end, I didn’t try to force ideas or over-think things, so each song on the album developed very naturally and instinctively.”

Brittany’s debut album ‘Velella Velella‘ is slated for release on March 8, 2024 via Metropolis Records.
