Californian goth outfit Fearing have returned with”However Long” a song from their new EP “Desolate”. Along with the announcement of the band’s first release in two years comes the news that they are set to embark on a full North American tour this spring.
The past five years for Fearing have been fraught with change. Shifting in lineups and locales, the band have embarked on an unimaginable journey. From emerging from humble beginnings in the back of a dusty apartment in East Oakland to working through recent shifts in personnel, the three-piece post-punk outfit has persevered through the recent and ongoing darkness, shining a light of hope in the desolation with “However Long”.
As the first new material to be unveiled in two years, “However Long” is worth the wait. With its spellbinding melody, the new song sways in shadowy romance with its brooding bass, engaging drums, and the looping flicker of glistening guitars that glide like luminous reflections across the cavernous and enveloping atmosphere led by vocalist James Rogers’ gentle growl.

With the forthcoming release of their new EP Desolate, Fearing have taken a completely DIY approach to the way they create music. Recorded and released in a manner which to combat the ever-growing costs of vinyl pressing turnaround times, “Desolate” features four new songs that see the band incorporating new aural atmospheres and sonic soundscapes while not straying too far from Fearing’s dark post-punk roots.
Available exclusively on Bandcamp until its worldwide digital release on April 20th, catch Fearing playing songs off Desolate throughout the U.S with Gatecreeper, Narrowhead, and 200 Stab Wounds in April and May.
An exclusive t-shirt is also available along with the pre-order of Desolate.
