Ahead of its release in February, Massachusetts darkwave duo Boy Harsher are sharing another fantastic single from their highly anticipated second studio album Careful, this time being the shivering and blood soaked apprehension that is “Fate”.
“Fate,” with its discordant sticacco synth intro, is augmented by the unsettling music video directed by Bryan M. Ferguson. The brilliant short film plays out like a twisted vampire story a’la Raw or Let The Right One In.
There is also possibly an homage to Robert Sean Leonard’s 1987 film My Best Friend is a Vampire, but with tongue firmly planted in bloody cheek, or cigarette put out in…well…just watch the video.
Boy Harsher had this to say about the track:
“This song is about how there’s no amount of running that will prevent you from your life. You are raw and beat-down, yet you will continue to behave the same way – Fate is your own trouble, a magnetic force that’s stuck on you forever.”
Boy Harsher are set to embark on an extensive world tour in support of Careful beginning on the day of its release on February 1st. See full dates below.
