Bewitching Icelandic Vocalist Sólveig Matthildur Closes her Video Series with “The End”

Bewitching young Icelandic vocalist and composer Sólveig Matthildur, part of the coven of creative minds that comprise darkwave trio Kælan Mikla, has just unveiled her video for “The End”, the third and last of a video series from her solo album Constantly in Love, released through Artoffact Records in May 2019.

All the videos in the series were recorded and cut by Dean Kemball and art directed by Kinnat Sóley in Leipzig.

“The videos are all linked and are inspired by my vivid dreams and dreaming in general,” says Solveig,

“In the first videos, I have already been lured by beauty into this dream world that captures me and makes me addicted to it—to escape reality. In this video, I have reached some kind of higher level of realization where I want to get out, but I don’t know where to look, or what I’m really searching for.

In the song itself I ask myself the question: “If I never again lust, I will never again hurt”. But that is The End.”

Along with the premiere, Solveig performs tonight at Eurosonic at Newscafe at 22:00. She has also indicated that she plans to release a new single “in these upcoming end-of-winter months!”

Constantly in Love features guest appearances from Drab Majesty’s Deb Demure, dreamy solo artist Some Ember, and the digital version includes a bonus track remixed by Hante. The album is out now via Artoffact Records.
