Berlin-based Post-Punk Outfit House of Light Debut Video for “House of Love”

Berlin-based post-punk outfit House of Light debut video for “House of Love”, a soaring new single swept away in religious imagery wrapped in the silhouette of a church projected over the band as they weave their cinematic sound wrapped in a shoegaze mesh of synths and guitars.

The band was formed in Berlin, with core members hailing from Melbourne Australia, Their music takes cues from luminaries such as The Cure, Joy Division, Killing Joke, and The Church, and they have been booked with the likes of Lydia Lunch, Pete Doherty, the Drones on tour around the world.

In an interview with Andy Rourke of the Smiths, House of Light described themselves as “evoking the romanticism of the 80s & the darker turn of the 90s.” This latest single is brimming with both shadow and luminosity whose dynamic interplay spans the emotional range from euphoria to melancholy, treading the narrow line between true love and heartache

House of Light’s next album 21st Century Prayer will see House of Light expanding their sound to traverse from dark and danceable energy to dreamy terrain and epic laments imbued with implosive poetry that evokes innocence lost in the face of the modern tech tsunami.
