Berlin-based Darkwave Duo Her Absence Fill the World Debuts New Single “Hit & Run”

Berlin-based post-punk duo Her Absence Fill the World have announced a new single for the summer, combining dark wave, post-punk, and electronica elements: “Hit And Run.”

Her Absence Fill The World crafts melodies that strike a surreal balance between feeling abandoned and relentlessly pursued. Shaped by their individual roots in the classical violin and techno, tracing a path from Ankara to Berlin, their style culminates in a harmonious synthesis of shadowy, melodic sounds. “Hit & Run” is crafted from this sonic architecture as it is stripped back to its essential harmony, combined with an ethereal voice and captivating synth leads, generating a deeply immersive sound. As you listen to Hit & Run, the wistful siren call and gentle beat gently cradle you, transporting you into a dreamlike trance.

Emanating from their self-run DIY imprint, U-Boddin Records, nestled in Berlin, the track marries the heartache of melancholy with a hypnotic electro ambiance.

The echoes of their performance at the 30th anniversary of Wave Gotik Treffen are still lingering, cementing Her Absence Fill the World’s status as ever brighter shining lights illuminating the dark-wave underground music scene. In a show of camaraderie, “Hit & Run” can be found on major streaming platforms, including Bandcamp (see below), where fans have the freedom to download it without charge.

Donations received will support an NGO aiding at-risk migrants facing deportation in Germany.

Her Absence Fill The World’s music, deeply reflective of their unique sound and diverse cultural influences, has previously graced a variety of independent dark scene labels, including Detriti Records, Cold Transmission, and Oraculo Records. Their exceptional talent and burgeoning potential have started to carve out their niche within the underground dark-wave music scene.

They emerged as the headliner of the Art Carnival Festival in Gröningen (NL) last summer and have graced the stages of subterranean clubs and festivals in Berlin such as Christa Kupfer and Kiezfest Neukölln. They also claim the distinction of being the resident artists and founders of the cross-border music project, NCOUNTERS Berlin.

The duo made their vinyl debut with “Dead Hands” on Oraculo Records and recently wrapped up a mini tour in Germany, leaving their imprints in cities like Leipzig, Frankfurt, and Berlin.
