Minneapolis-based ethereal band Autumn released their first album in 18 years this past March. Produced by Faith & the Muse/The Bellwether Syndicate’s William Faith, Chandelier picks up where the band left off, with powerful female vocals layered on top of echo-laden guitars and driving, bright post punk production. The album also strays into electronic territory on tracks like “My Last Confession,” which successfully bridges the gap between modern Clan of Xymox and The Chameleon’s incendiary guitar work. Lead-off single “The Fall” sounds just as vital as any track from their 1996 debut The Hating Tree, and overall the record is a blissfully welcome addition to the band’s classic catalog.
The band will be embarking on a North American tour to promote Chandelier, mostly sticking to the east coast and midwest markets. The tour begins next week in Columbus, Ohio, and includes a date at Brooklyn’s St. Vitus for this month’s Underworld party. Check out the full tour itinerary below:
