Australian Post-Punk Outfit Death Bells Debut New Single “Passerby”—Plus Tour Dates

Los Angeles post-punk outfit Death Bells have returned with a soaring, stunning new single, “Passerby”. Originally from Sydney, Australia, collaborators Will Canning and Remy Veseles have blurred the lines between genres with their fusion of passionate garage rock and post-punk throughout their seven-year history. With this ongoing progression, their sound has evolved in nuance, depth, and dynamic range, showcasing the duo’s exceptional songwriting prowess.

Their latest new track “Passerby” follows “Intruder”, which premiered last December. “Passerby” has a delightful sound akin to the psychedelia of Echo and the Bunnymen, the expansive, ethereal hooks of White Lies, traces of Interpol, and Editors, and interestingly enough, the erratic guitar of English folk-rock pioneers Steeleye Span. It’s a heady mix of disparate influences, with a wonderfully gothic flair in this offering from Death Bells.

Death Bells released their sophomore full-length (and Dais Records debut) New Signs of Life in September of 2020.  In direct response to the pandemic, Death Bells secluded themselves at Bombay Beach to record and release five live recordings of songs from New Signs of Life in April of 2021—  which resulted in Live from Bombay.

The band announces a US and European tour ahead of the release, making stops in California, the UK, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Italy, and Spain.
