Atom Made Earth Announces “Songs for a Dreamer” and Debuts Bittersweet Video for “Memorial”

In the shimmering realm of “Songs for a Dreamer,” the third album from Atom Made Earth, what once began as a collaborative ensemble has metamorphosed into the singular vision of Italian composer Daniele Polverini, ensconced in the scenic embrace of Ancona, Italy. Now, in a fit of nostalgic indulgence, Atom Made Earth has graced us with an emotionally charged new instrumental, called “Memorial.”

Navigating the shared corridors of personal sentiment and collective emotion, Polverini sought to create a coherent sonic narrative with Memorial, much like the threads of a cinematic score. The resulting composition is a testament to Polverini’s diverse auditory palate. It carries whispers of experimental electronics, echoes of post-rock, and the unmistakable undertones of trip-hop and neo-psychedelia. Such a melange reflects a creator who not only hears but deeply listens.

Polverini did all the hard work himself, from the strumming to the humming and all the buttons in between. The quaint music video clip for the nostalgic song, also directed by Polverini, is a found footage treat of spliced sentimental VHS tapes from the 70s and 80s. As for the tune, it’s a dab of Aphex Twin, a sprinkle of Tycho, but with the mellow touch of Boards of Canada and Brian Eno.

Listen below and wipe those tears:

Years after parting ways with his initial musical counterparts, Polverini forged a unique path, crafting his own intimate recording alcove. Here, free from the din of outside distractions, he delved deeply into the harmonies he yearned to bring forth.

Songs for a Dreamer” unfolds not as an album simply penned and then recorded; it blossoms in real-time, capturing the essence of creation itself. With melodies reminiscent of cinematic visuals, this collection aspires to be more than mere music—it paints vibrant narratives of life and memories that touch the very soul of its listeners.

The album is out on October 18th, 2023.
