Greek cold-wave band Selofan, the driving force behind belovedFabrika Records, have released today their stylish music video for “I’m Addicted”, featured on the band’s fifth studio album Vitrioli, which came out this past April.
Directed by Dimitris Chaz Lee and filmed by Alex Sinodinos, the video displays a beautifully surreal photoshoot worthy of Federico Fellini, where androgynous creatures and dark souls pose along with Selofan in front of the white backdrop.
In postmodernist fashion, behind the eye of the lens in this parallel world is none other than Alex Machairas from legendary 80s Greek band In Trance 95, starring as the photographer, who posing a directing the current heroes of the Athenian wave scene per his instruction.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
“Addiction is an “unhealthy” bond between a person and something else. Whether you’re drawn to a substance, object, person, idea or feeling, addiction works the same way. Only the consequences change. It’s not to be said if it’s a bad or a good thing, it’s destructive as much as creative. We all capture glances of reality, some people use cameras and others don’t. Addiction is a mental state, something inside all of us. It altered our perception and created a parallel world of avant-garde beings and flashy lights making us part of this everlasting bond.”
