In continuing our series of photo-galleries from the archives of The Harrow’s guitarist, Greg Fasolino, we must give special attention to 1985, when Greg started his band The Naked and the Dead. Taking its name from both the 1948 Normal Mailer novel, and the 1985 Andi Sex Gang song, the band originally featured Christopher Bollman on bass Greg Fasolino on guitar Lorianne Oakley on vocals, with John Grady & David Patti on drums (not at the same time!).
The band in it’s original incarnation only released one 4 song demo, but would go on to release live recordings, and reunite twice, including a 2005 performance at the third annual Drop Dead Festival—with Julia Ghoulia from The Brides on vocals.
During this reunion period, Christopher Bollman, and Greg formed the spectacularly beautiful Post-Punk Revival and Dream Pop band Bell Hollow.
Pick up Sons of the Burgess Shale, or Foxgloves if you can—these records really are treasures!!!
