Liverpool Synth Quarter Ladytron are back, and ready to perform live in support of their recently released self-titled dystopian themed sixth studio album—the follow-up to 2011’s Gravity The Seducer.
Making their strong return with tracks like “The Island”, “The Animals”, and “Far From Home”, we are personally fond of the group’s dark industrial EBM tinged track “Dead Zone”, which taking obvious inspiration from the Stephen King novel of the same name. The song is imbued with an especially surreal atmosphere given that we currently exist in an alternate timeline where a Greg Stillson type is the president of the United States.
But, despite the dystopian and nihilistic themes on Ladytron’s latest, the records ends optimistically with ‘Tomorrow Is Another Day” a track that Marnie described to NPR as a [song] bubbling with sadness, but it’s also a love letter,” adding that, “It’s important to me that there’s hope. We need that. Everybody needs that.”
Helen Marnie, Daniel Hunt, Mira Aroyo and Reuben Wu are going to give select cities worldwide a chance to hear these songs featured on the record live for the first time with dates scheduled across Europe and Russia throughout late spring and summer, with four North America gigs scheduled for early October.
