On October 7, 1977 XTC released their debut titled the 3D -EP, which was the 12 inch version of the Science Friction single—this included the b-side She’s So Square, along with the track Dance Band.
XTC initially formed five years earlier in 1972, with Colin Moulding (bass & vocals) and Terry Chambers (drums) enlisting Andy Partridge (guitars & vocals). Before settling on the name XTC, the trio performed glamrock under the names The Helium Kidz and Star Park, until they recruited keyboardist Barry Andrews in 1976, which then lead to the band release their debut via Virgin Records.
