This summer, Berlin label Instruments of Discipline released Skin Of Their Light – Spes Aeterna, the first work of a trilogy, by French video artist Diane Drubay.
The title of Diane’s work ‘Spes Aeterna’ means eternal hope in Latin, and this “psychoactive and transcendental” experience through the natural world is visually represented through the warmth of the setting sun over the deep waters of the sea—tapping into all the metaphors and archetypes of eternity and hope locked into our collective unconsciousness.
One of the five musicians contributing a sonic representation of the video art is none other than Australian born and Berlin based musician and vocalist Zanias (Linea Aspera, Keluar). Her ethereal lament accompanies the visuals in a way that can only be achieved through someone experienced in exploring higher states of consciousness—as is evident in both Zanias and Diane Drubay’s bodies of work.
